Bugsy Malone is a “good triumphs over evil” story about two rival gangs, Fat Sam's and Dandy Dan's. Fat Sam owns the Speakeasy nightclub where you will find Hollywood singers and dancers in the making. These budding performers are queuing up to audition for Fat Sam but his standard reply is, "Come back tomorrow."

Dandy Dan's gang is successfully obliterating Fat Sam's gang with newly acquired splurge guns. In desperation Fat Sam employs the expertise of our hero, Bugsy Malone, who discovers the whereabouts of the weapons and orchestrates their seizure. The story concludes with an all out confrontation which ends in a truce as they sing the words "It's been decided we're weaker divided, let friendship double up our powers. Give a little love and it all comes back to you".

Directed by Lyn Tunnicliffe and Andrew Watson, this musical brings together 24 talented young performers whose energy and enthusiasm will bring a night of fun and intrigue.

Onstage at Upstage August 27 through September 6 2008.
